Now that folks are taking down their decorations, I need to take a minute to make a mini-brag. Y'all, I make a durn fine looking tree. I mean, my tree is essentially covered in former garbage... but you'd never know that. Those crystals there? Totally repurposed trash. I salvaged a truly hideous looking Brass-n-Glass chandelier that was popular some time in the late 80s- it was headed for the dumpster. After cleaning and disassembling the crystals (and setting aside a few bits of the brass for some h̶o̶a̶r̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ later repurposing) I strung up the crystals with some ornament string and put them all over the tree- you guys, my tree is seven feet of dripping diamonds and rainbow prisms. I'm talking serious glitter here!
BTW- if you're as into repurposing as I am, you might want to consider shopping second-hand as well. I recently discovered the site @ThredUp (thank you @bowerpowerblog!). Love this shop!! I got my entire holiday wardrobe there and I don't even feel guilty about going back for more for spring clothes. Check it out! #secondhandfirst
